Founded by Sam after his mum died suddenly, we’re a group of people who work in death because we’ve been affected by it. We know the difference a good plan makes, and what it’s like when there isn’t one.

The Role

Want to be a part of shaping a role and growing a team? We’re in hyper-growth mode which includes an acquisition strategy that you’ll be taking a leading role in. This is a foundational role in the growth and sales team.

We’re hiring an M&A Associate to help support us with a massive outbound function that we’re launching as part of our goal to reach 1m clients. This role will be focused on building out our business by reaching out to existing legal firms and broaching the conversation of M&A. A bit like how Octopus Energy recently onboarded Bulb’s clients. We can’t reveal too much without signing NDAs but the scope of this project is enormous. You’ll also be working alongside Octopus’ M&A team to help with the onboarding of these new clients.

This role will help you build or grow a foundation in M&A, develop expertise in the estate planning industry and be on the front line of hyper-growth. As the first member of this team, there is an opportunity to mould the role, and develop into a leadership role as the team grows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deal sourcing: Identify and assess potential acquisition targets or merger opportunities, and build a network of industry contacts to source strategic deals and stay ahead of market trends.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial modelling and valuation analysis and evaluate target company financials and metrics.
  • Due Diligence: Lead due diligence processes and coordinate with legal and other specialists.
  • Deal Execution: Support deal structuring and negotiations and prepare transaction documents.
  • Communication and Relationship Management: Communicate with stakeholders and build relationships with professionals.
  • Project Management: Coordinate cross-functional teams and manage project timelines.

Who Are You?

  • Ideally, you’ll have experience achieving targets and setting up potential client meetings.


  • Flexible working: 3 days in the office (London, Holborn) you can work remotely up to 2 days a week. You are also able to work from anywhere in the world for up to 4 weeks per year.
