Sales Executive - Estate Planning

London, England, United Kingdom

The Company

Octopus Legacy is the place to plan for death and find support after loss.

Having been on our own startup journey, Octopus Group recently bought a stake in our company to supercharge our growth, and now we’re one of the fastest growing companies within the UK’s most exciting group (you may have heard of some of our sister companies…)

With our new brand, the Octopus platform at our disposal and a Top Secret plan to achieve radical scale we’re already transforming the way that people experience the process of planning for and dealing with death.

We’ve assembled a crack team to prepare us for that scale, and you could be the missing piece we’re looking for!

The Role

Come and join a burgeoning team on the ground floor, as we scale our sales function from 1 to as much as 80+ over the next 24 months and beyond.

When Sales meets Estate Planning it results in a consultative approach to planning for and dealing with death by helping our customers find the best products for them. It helps customers create their financial, legal and emotional back-up plans ahead of time, or family members deal with a bereavement by writing a will, a lasting power of attorney, life insurance, probate services and more.

Our Estate Planning team is at the absolute core of our Top Secret growth plans, and in order to pull them off we’re already building an industry-leading sales function.

You’ll be working hand-in-glove with our operational and delivery teams to offer expert support and a best in class service. You’ll ensure that our customers leave any interaction feeling valued and cared for with jargon-free, tailored support. In doing so you’ll push yourself and your team to meet ambitious goals.

This role will help you take your career in sales - and the estate planning industry - to the next level, whilst also joining us on our journey of explosive startup growth!

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively engage with prospective customers (inbound and outbound) to help them find the best product or service for them at their time of need.
  • Achieve individual and team targets for customer conversion while delivering the highest standards of service.
  • Maintain a deep industry knowledge, as well as relevant financial and legal topics, in order to effectively assist customers and answer their inquiries. (We’ll teach you everything you need to know in this area, so we don’t need you to have any pre-existing knowledge).

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions, including notes and follow-up actions using our CRM system.

  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve the process and enhance the customer experience.

Who Are You?

You want to work at a startup and you’ll thrive in a fast paced environment. You have a personal growth mentality, with a hunger to learn. Autonomy doesn't scare you, and being self-sufficient and happy to come up with solutions to problems on your own is attractive to you.

  • Bachelors degree in Law (preferred).
  • 1-3 years sales experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a natural ability to build rapport and trust with customers. You have a high EQ and an empathetic nature.
  • Proven track record in achieving targets and driving customer engagement.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Self-motivated, with a strong work ethic and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • A team player who is willing to go above and beyond to deliver an exceptional experience for clients.
  • Have buckets of energy and are eager to learn.

Our Mission

When people think about planning for death they think about wills, life insurance and funerals. We take these cold processes and turn them into something more human. Share more than money: leave voice notes, music, recipes. Shape a legacy that connects you while you're here. And after you're gone.

Founded by Sam after his mum died suddenly, we’re a group of people who work in death because we’ve been affected by it. We know the difference a good plan makes, and what it’s like when there isn’t one.

Death can come between us, leave mess, legal fees, frustration. But it can also make us stronger. We see a world where people talk openly about death, and work out the real meaning of legacy, one that connects to them. We’re here to make that world happen.

Benefits:

  • Flexible working: 3 days in the office (London, Holborn)
  • Work from anywhere in the world for up to 4 weeks per year.
  • An extra holiday day for your birthday
  • Life insurance, Health insurance, Will & LPAs
  • Enhanced parental leave
  • Octopus share incentive scheme
  • Cycle to Work Scheme and access to the Electric Vehicle (EV) Salary Sacrifice Scheme.
  • Octopus Giving: we match any charitable fundraising that you do up to £500.
  • Octopus Springboard: where we help our employees become fully-fledged entrepreneurs.

We know that to be truly innovative, we need to have a diverse team around us. That is why Octopus Legacy is committed to creating an inclusive environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
