Sales Development Representative - IFA

London, England, United Kingdom

The Company

Octopus Legacy is the place to plan for death and find support after loss.

Having been on our own startup journey, Octopus Group recently bought a stake in our company to supercharge our growth, and now we’re one of the fastest growing companies within the UK’s most exciting group (you may have heard of some of our sister companies…)

With our new brand, the Octopus platform at our disposal and a Top Secret plan to achieve radical scale we’re already transforming the way that people experience the process of planning for and dealing with death.

We’ve assembled a crack team to prepare us for that scale, and you could be the missing piece we’re looking for!

The Role

We are hiring an enthusiastic and dynamic Sales Development Representative to join our rapidly growing Sales team! In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and engaging with independent financial advisors to promote and sell our estate planning services. You will play a crucial role in expanding our client base, driving revenue growth and building long-lasting relationships with IFAs who can benefit from our estate planning services.

This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, relentlessly pursues new opportunities, consistently exceeds targets and wants to make a big impact!

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and research potential independent financial advisors (IFAs) who could benefit from our estate planning services.
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of qualified leads through various channels, including cold calling, email campaigns, social media, and networking.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with a network of financial advisers and private bank clients to maximise sales opportunities for Octopus Legacy’s services.
  • Conduct meetings with and give presentations to new and prospective clients, highlighting the benefits and value proposition.
  • Understand a complex suite of solutions and translate them into simple solutions for advisers.
  • Oversee the onboarding process for new clients, ensuring a seamless transition and implementation of our services.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop and implement effective sales strategies.

Who Are You?

You want to work at a startup and you’ll thrive in a fast paced environment. You have a personal growth mentality, with a hunger to learn. Autonomy doesn't scare you, and being self-sufficient and happy to come up with solutions to problems on your own is attractive to you.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years sales experience, bonus points for financial services.
  • Proven track record in achieving targets and driving customer engagement.
  • Strong communication style with an ability to be influential when needed.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Self-motivated, with a strong work ethic and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software Hubspot (preferred).
  • A team player who is willing to go above and beyond to deliver an exceptional experience for clients.
  • Have buckets of energy and are eager to learn.

Our Mission

When people think about planning for death they think about wills, life insurance and funerals. We take these cold processes and turn them into something more human. Share more than money: leave voice notes, music, recipes. Shape a legacy that connects you while you're here. And after you're gone.

Founded by Sam after his mum died suddenly, we’re a group of people who work in death because we’ve been affected by it. We know the difference a good plan makes, and what it’s like when there isn’t one.

Death can come between us, leave mess, legal fees, frustration. But it can also make us stronger. We see a world where people talk openly about death, and work out the real meaning of legacy, one that connects to them. We’re here to make that world happen.

Benefits:

  • Flexible working: 3 days in the office (London, Holborn)
  • Work from anywhere in the world for up to 4 weeks per year.
  • An extra holiday day for your birthday
  • Life insurance, Health insurance, Will & LPAs
  • Enhanced parental leave
  • Octopus share incentive scheme
  • Cycle to Work Scheme and access to the Electric Vehicle (EV) Salary Sacrifice Scheme.
  • Octopus Giving: we match any charitable fundraising that you do up to £500.
  • Octopus Springboard: where we help our employees become fully-fledged entrepreneurs.

We know that to be truly innovative, we need to have a diverse team around us. That is why Octopus Legacy is committed to creating an inclusive environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
